As a contract writer for Xanthus, I wrote and edited manuals. I also indexed almost all the manuals produced at Xanthus during this time.

In this position, I prepared masters of software manuals for publication, proofread and indexed manuals, and edited smaller manuals. As Information System Analyst, I prepared databases for staff use (mailing lists, requisition tracking system, etc.); trained staff members in word processing and data processing; wrote instructions for use of in-house databases and summaries for training classes. I also organized and managed the library.

As acquisitions-cataloging librarian, I selected and ordered all books and performed original cataloging of the collection. I also performed online database searches for the Reference Department as required. Special projects included reorganization of the serials and audiovisuals office and writing procedures manuals for the serials office and circulation department.I prepared a directory of alcoholism treatment services for the Committee on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse.
